Hey there!
Have you ever been in a situation where you’re out with friends or family at a non-vegan restaurant and feel like there are no options for you? Don’t worry, you’re not alone!
As a vegan myself, I know how difficult it can be to find options while eating out, especially at non-vegan restaurants. That’s why I wanted to share some tips with you on how to find vegan options in non-vegan restaurants.
VEGAN OPTIONS IN NON-VEGAN RESTAURANTS
- Check the menu beforehand: Most restaurants have their menu available online, so be sure to check it out before you go. Look for dishes that have plant-based options or can easily be made vegan.
- Ask your server: Don’t be afraid to ask your server for vegan options or to modify dishes to make them vegan. They’re there to help you and want you to have a great dining experience. For example, you can order a pizza with no cheese and extra veggies or a veggie burger with guac instead of cheese. YUM!
- Get creative: Even if there aren’t any vegan options on the menu, you can still get creative and make your own dish. For example, you could ask for a salad with extra veggies and avocado or a pasta dish with tomato sauce and veggies. Or look for sides and appetizers: Many restaurants have vegan-friendly side dishes or appetizers. These can be combined to make a full meal. For example, a side of roasted veggies and a quinoa salad.
- Go ethnic: Ethnic restaurants tend to have more vegan options, so try exploring different cuisines like Indian, Thai, or Middle Eastern.
- Be prepared: Check out HappyCow, The #1 Vegan App. It’s the world’s largest vegan community and food map app. I’ve used this App everytime I travel, and it’s amazing!
Remember, being vegan doesn’t mean you have to miss out on dining out with friends and family. By following these tips, you can enjoy delicious meals while sticking to your vegan lifestyle.
I hope these tips help you navigate non-vegan restaurants with ease. Let me know if you have any other tips or strategies for finding vegan options while dining out.
